The maintenance of bwCloud Freiburg has been successfully completed. Some changes are relevant for continued operation after maintenance. Please read the following information carefully.
-
There is now a transitional (1) the new bwCloud at portal.bw-cloud.org and (2) the Inactive-bwCloud at portal02.bwcloud.uni-freiburg.de.
-
The migration window runs from 15.04. - 15.06.. This allows all users to move data from the Inactive-bwCloud to the new bwCloud. Users should migrate their data to the new bwCloud immediately! From June 15, the Inactive-bwCloud and all data in it will no longer be available.
-
In the Inactive-bwCloud you will find all your data as before the maintenance. Your instances are paused. An image of your instances is stored in your project. Resolution of DNS entries is only supported in the new bwCloud.
-
Attention: Your data storage objects are accessible from the new bwCloud and from the Inactive-bwCloud. Do not use the storage from both bwCloud versions! Otherwise you risk losing data.
-
Recommended: Do not continue to operate your services in the Inactive-bwCloud. Create your services in the new bwCloud using automated methods. See also our Wiki. Only connect your instance to your data storage object from the new bwCloud.
-
Not recommended: You can use the image of your instance from the Inactive-bwCloud for the migration. See also our FAQ.
- The bwCloud Freiburg cannot guarantee every user their quota in the Inactive-bwCloud. If too many resources are used in the Inactive-bwCloud, it is no longer possible to operate instances. To enable the use of more resources, we reserve the right to restart instances. You should therefore migrate your instances to the new bwCloud.
